HANDWERK is the furniture design business from Australian-German cabinet maker, Andreas Ebker-White. Having completed his training in Byron Bay and Sydney, Andreas then spent eight years working at highly respected cabinet making companies in Berlin, honing his craft and developing a distinctive style influenced by the great Danish designers, such as Finn Juhl, Børge Mogensen and Hans Wegner.
Since arriving in Glasgow in 2022, he has continued to work for larger companies, including Paul Hodgkiss Designs, further developing his skills building freestanding furniture and built-in cabinetry.
It is his experience making furniture in each of these places, as well as his keen interest in mid-century Scandinavian design, that influences his work today. With a focus on simple designs, made well, HANDWERK offers timeless furniture and cabinetry that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
From initial brief to finished product, all pieces are a collaboration between Andreas and the customer, made to order by hand in Andreas’s small workshop in Glasgow.
Timber is sourced from local FSC-certified timber yards.
